Browser and Graphics Support
- The preferred browsers are Microsoft Internet Explorer 4.01 first and Netscape Communicator's Navigator 4.0 or later. The latest browser are cheap or free. Please upgrade to enjoy all of the features of this site and others.
- Most pages use the HTML 4.0 standard. Old browsers may have difficulty with the new syntax.
- Style sheet support is mandatory. MSIE 3.02 and 4.x and Netscape Navigator 4.x support styles. Netscape Navigator 3.0 does not. Without style support, the pages will look very plain.
- This site is designed for a 800 X 600, or slightly less, screen resolution.
- I expect support for at least 256 colors. Many photos use 16 million colors (24-bit true color) so the more colors you can display, the better.
- All testing is done under Windows 98 with lots of RAM. Let me know where things die on a slow machine.
RealAudio
- RealAudio is designed for version 4.0.20.134 (32-bit) or later
- RealAudio is recorded for 28.8kbps playback. Slow connections may have poor quality. You can often get an uninterrupted playback by replaying the recording after it has all been transferred to your local machine's browser cache.
- I am not using a RealAudio server. The content comes through http streaming off of the same Web server serving thousands of pages and graphics every minute.
