For the Women

The First Lutheran Women of the Evangelical Lutheran Church in America (WELCA) is an active organization. We have unit meetings with special programs every other month. We are divided into three circles for Bible study and fellowship in homes. Two meet in the afternoon and one in the evening, (usually) on the third Thursday of each month.

The women organize and promote a bazaar which is held the third Saturday of October each year. The entire congregation contributes time, talent, and treasure and it has become not only a fund-raiser, but a community social event.

Each fall and winter we meet to make quilts for Lutheran World Relief. We also send used clothing, health kits, school kits, sewing kits, etc. to Lutheran World Relief and help support other local and national ministries. Two of these are Community Referral Agency in Milltown and the Good Samaritan Center in St. Croix Falls.

An adult and teenage choir practices Wednesday evenings. They normally sing twice a month at worship services.

For the Men

At 7:00 a.m. on the first Saturday of each month (usually), the men of the parish are invited to meet for breakfast and Bible study.

For the Young People

Sunday School is 10:15 a.m. September - May for children preschool - Grade 8.

Vacation Bible School is held in June for the community.

Junior Choir practice is 4 p.m. on Wednesdays. They normally sing at worship one Sunday a month.

Beginning Bell Choir practices at 5 p.m. on Wednesdays.

Advanced Bell Choir (for teenagers) practices at 6 p.m. on Wednesdays.

Confirmation classes for young people in Grades 7-8 are held as a parish, meeting September - May on Wednesday evenings.

We are affiliated with Luther Point Bible Camp which is located on Big Wood Lake, Grantsburg, Wisconsin.

There are various youth activities as a parish, with other community churches, and at Luther Point.
